Problems with UM ICT services

If you have problems with services provided by Maastricht University you can contact the ICTS Servicedesk. They are opened Mon to Fri 09.00 - 12.30 hours and 13.00 - 16.30 hours.

ICTS can help with:

  1. Login problems with University services like Eduroam, the Student Portal, Eleum, MyTimetable, VPN, Remote Access, etc.
  2. Not being able to get on the wifi (if it turns out to be an issue with your device they cannot help you).
  3. Software issues with software provided by ICTS.
  4. And in general, services provided by ICTS.

ICTS cannot help with:

  1. Problems with Word, Powerpoint, etc.
  2. Lost files.
  3. Defective devices.
  4. Other problems with software, hardware or services that are not provided by ICTS.

ICTS Servicedesk Randwyck can surely also be found somewhere, but DKE students don't visit Randwyck that often ;)

Getting on the University Wi-Fi (eduroam)

Getting on the Wi-Fi is usually quite simple:

  1. Select Eduroam
  2. Enter your username with @unimaas.nl added, so: i********@unimaas.nl
  3. Enter your password
  4. Connect

If this doesn’t work, please make sure these two settings were set correctly:

  1. The EAP-method: PEAP
  2. The Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPv2

WARNING: DON’T USE THE UNIVERSITY NETWORK FOR ILLEGAL PURPOSES, BY USING THE NETWORK YOU ACCEPT THE RULES/REGULATIONS THAT ARE IN EFFECT. As an example, your account will be disabled when the University notices you’re downloading torrents.

Where can I find my schedules and other information?

Most information about your courses can be found on ELEUM, the Eletctronic Learning Environment from Maastricht University (accessible through the student portal). The schedules for example can be found as follows:

  1. Go to Organisations
  2. Go to DKE Students
  3. Go to Schedules

If your schedule isn’t available there, you will probably have to wait a bit longer. You can also contact he Education Office about the schedule.

Starting in 2016-2017 DKE will use timetable.maastrichtuniversity.nl for schedules. This can easily be exported to your personal calendar.

Where can I find my grades?

Your current grades and ECTS can be found at myum.unimaas.nl → Courses → Academic Work.

How do I enrol in my courses?

If you have to enrol in courses, this can be done at myum.unimaas.nl → Courses → Course Registration. Here you should select your study and the academic period. You can contact Bureau Onderwijs (the Education Office) at bo-dke@maastrichtuniversity.nl if you need assistance.

If you want to register for an exam only, for example if you already followed the course but failed the exam last year, this can be done at myum.unimaas.nl → Exams → Exam Registration. You can contact Bureau Onderwijs (the Education Office) at bo-dke@maastrichtuniversity.nl if you need assistance.

Remote use of university computers

If you wish to access to your personal files stored on the University network, or want use a program that you haven’t got installed on you personal computer (like Matlab, LaTex, etc.) you can remotely use the University computers from your own computer via Student Desktop Anywhere. Please visit https://maastrichtuniversity.nl/anywhere.

Get on the University network via a VPN connection

Sometimes it’s useful to go on the internet via the University network. A simple example is Google Scholar, you will get more results when you search from a University IP address. You can do this via Cisco Anyconnect. Please visit: https://vpn.maastrichtuniversity.nl
