On Monday the 31st of August the new academic year will start and the holiday is over, and to celebrate that Incognito’s organizes a BBQ! This is a great opportunity to share your holiday stories with other students and MICC staff and meet the new students.

We start at 17:00h. The price is €5 for four pieces of meat and €1 for drinks.

If you want to participate in the BBQ, please register by sending an e-mail to incognito@maastrichtuniversity.nl. Also indicate if you are a vegetarian, in that case we can arrange some non-meat food for you.

End-of-the-year BBQ!

The end of the year is approaching rapidly, which means that it’s time again for our famous end-of-the-year BBQ! We invite you all to join us for some nice food and refreshing drinks, in the cosy ambience of our very own faculty garden. The BBQ will take place on Thursday, June 25, starting at 17:00. At this time, we will also introduce our new Yearbook 2008/2009! Make sure you are there to collect your copy!

Concerning the BBQ, we will serve four pieces of meat for the friendly price of €4,-, and drinks (beer, soda, wine) will be €1,-. If you want to participate in the BBQ, please register by mail before Wednesday, June 24. Also indicate if you are a vegetarian, in that case we can arrange some non-meat food for you.

The academic year is approaching its end. After a year of long nights studying and hard working to meet deadlines, it is time to celebrate the end of the academic year! The last two years we have organized successful parties in cooperation with Luna-tik, the study association for psychology students, to celebrate this. Continuing the success of these parties, we are proud to present the next party in a completely new style and at a new location:

Rockin’ on Heaven’s Door !

At this mainstream party we treat everyone to his or her favourite music! Our first DJ starts with mainstream music. After that, our poprock DJ will pleasure your ears and prepare you for our final music genre: drum ‘n bass. This last DJ is Knowledge Engineering student Danny!

Tickets will be sold at the Incognito room (BOU 8-10, room 0.018) between 12.00h and 14.00h each day in week 23, and between 13.30h and 14.00h on other days!!
Tickets will also be sold at UNS 40 and Café De Twee Heeren (Platielstraat 17-19).

Presale prices are only 3 euros for Incognito or Luna-tik members, and 3,50 for non-members. Tickets at the door are 4,50 euros. So make sure you get your ticket on time!

Maastrichts Mooiste

At Sunday, June 14th, Maastricht organizes a run through Maastricht. This run is in two different lengths: 5km or 15km. If you would like to participate, but don’t have anyone to run with, let us know! Incognito has a small team participating on both tracks.

Let us know by sending an e-mail to aktie@msvincognito.nl. Deadline for subscription is the end of this month. For more information, send an e-mail or come by the Incoffeeto.

Also, the photo’s from the Infamous Incognito Paintball event are now online! I think it is safe to say that it was a big success! I even heard a number of requests to organize it twice a year. Check out the photo’s right away in the pictures section!

Paintball

Incognito Paintball is one of the biggest events of the year. Last year was a big success, and this time’s going to be even more fun. It won’t be a problem if you’ve never paintballed before. You are not the only one!

Note: the date for this event has been changed to May 13!

We will depart around 12.00h and be back around 17.00h. More details will be sent to you via e-mail around the 10th if you register.
If you want to join us, – and you know you want to – send an e-mail to aktie@msvincognito.nl (subject “paintball”).
Also, if you have a car available that day and would like to drive, be sure to contact us! We would really appreciate it. Incognito will of course reimburse the petrol costs.

The damage for this event is €20 for Incognito-members, €25,- for non-members. This includes entrance, transportation and 140 balls.

General Assembly

On May 6th we organize our next General Assembly. We invite you all to join and discuss any matter related to our association. We will provide you with an evaluation of the year so far, including a realisation, and we will present our plans for the near future. Afterwards there will be time for a drink. You will receive more details via e-mail soon.

Games Night

Thursday the 23th of April the aKTie presents our first “Games Night”, boardgames edition.
Starting at 18:00 you can come by at the faculty and join the dinner. Afterwards there is time to play some games and have a drink. We will supply some games but you are encouraged to bring your own games that you want to share with fellow students. The evening will end at approximately 10 o’clock. Afterwards there is a chance to discuss your results in a pub.

Play well and you might end up with one of our prizes!

The damage for this evening is 5 euros, which includes the dinner, drinks and some snacks during the evening.

Registration is not mandatory but if you’re sure you’ll join the dinner please let us know at aktie@msvincognito.nl. And if you’re a vegetarian please let us know in advance.

Incognito's Third Lustrum

As you might have heard already, 2009 is a special year for Incognito. On March 28, it is exactly 15 years ago that our study association was founded. During these years Incognito has become an active association, organizing a broad range of activities from sports and games to lectures and business days. This would not have been possible without the hard work and effort of all the people actively involved in our organization, and also of course not without the enthusiasm of all students who have visited our activities over the years.

Therefore, we would like to celebrate our Third Lustrum with all of you. On Tuesday, April 7, we will throw a big party, starting with a nice and luxurious buffet, after which there will be plenty of time for drinks, music, and fun! At the same time this is also the start of the next block, and this party will therefore also be our block opening drink (BOB).

Where and when?
At café De Twee Heeren, Platielstraat 17-19, downstairs. The buffet starts at 17:00, and from 20:00 on we will have our birthday party.

What about this buffet?
You will have a choice of various dishes, both with meat and fish. Of course there will also be a rich salad, fries, and bread at the side. The price for this all will be only €5! During the buffet, and at least until the first keg of beer if empty, drinks will be €0,75. The rest of the evening beer and soda will be €1,50.

Registration?
We need to know in advance how many people there will be at the buffet. Therefore it is necessary to register if you would like to join. You can do so by sending an e-mail to incognito@micc.unimaas.nl before the 2nd of April. Do it now so you won’t forget!

It is time to drop your wii-mote and join us when we are going bowling!

Tuesday, March 17th at the Bowling centre Maastricht (near the Brusselse Poort). We start bowling at 18.30, but please make sure that you are on time. Be at the bowling centre at 18.20 or at the faculty at 18.00. This gives you enough time to choose a pair of their fashionable shoes!
Bring your UM-card with you.

Incognito Pub Crawl

We would like to introduce you to some real Maastricht pubs, places you’ve probably never been to. Enjoy the real Maastricht pub atmosphere and of course some drinks! The pub crawl takes place on Wednesday, March 11th. If you want to join, please be at the faculty 21h00. The costs are €10 for Incognito members, €15 for non members, this includes 7 drinks.

KafE 6 with Ralf Peeters

Thursday, March 5th, the next KafE will take place. This time, Ralf Peeters will be the speaker. KafE are extra-curriculum lectures, which give teachers or PhD students the opportunity to tell about their current research. These topics are not part of your standard curriculum, but are a nice way to learn something extra, and get a grip of what you can do with knowledge engineering once you finish. And, of course, it is always lots of fun!

Incognito goes Climbing

Yes, Incognito also does sports! Time for you knowledge engineers to get away from your computers and climb to a higher level (literally 😉 ). Together with student climbing association MaasSAC we are going to climbing centre Neoliet to climb. This is for beginners – even first-timers – and more advanced climbers.

Because there are only a limited number of instructors, the maximum number of subscriptions is 15. Therefore, we ask you to send an e-mail, if you want to come, to aktie@msvincognito.nl, subject: ‘Climbing’. There is a group travelling from the faculty to the climbing centre, you can join this group or travel on your own. Details about this will be supplied by e-mail by that time.

BOB 4

The start of a new block is always a good reason for a drink! Join us at the 4th of February for drinks & fun, at our new location: Café De Twee Heeren, 1st floor. If you enter the café at the right entrance, you find the stairs immediately at your right. If you are lost completely, just ask at the bar 🙂

Poker Night

Practice your poker face and play against your fellow students.

We meet at the faculty at 20.00h and go to a secret location (depends on the number of registrations), it is advisable to come by bike.
